The workshop will be structure into two sessions of two hours introduced and closed by Matteo Bonazzi from the European Commission (programme officer converging S&T Unit G.4, EC).
The first session will be dedicated to the presentation of 5 projects communicating Nanotechnology and science for education (i.e. NANOYOU, NANOCHANNELS, TIMEFORNANO, NANOTOTOUCH, NANODIALOGUE) funded by the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Commission.
The second part will include a roundtable and a presentation of Scientix, the community for science education in Europe to facilitate regular dissemination and sharing of know-how and best practices in science education. The round table aims to offer the possibility to communicate and debate the results of the projects involved and discussing different aspects of nanotechnology and its societal aspects to the target audience: communicators, educators, researchers, media, NGOs and their main interest. Three sub-themes will be debated by a panel of nano-communication experts moderated by Alexa Joyce, European Schoolnet: 1. Debating ethical, legal and social aspects of nanotechnology, 2.
